Travel Cape Town: Darling, Yzerfontein and Franschoek
We headed out to Darling and Yzerfontein. The flowers aren’t out completely yet but you can see the country side is slowly transforming into the most beautiful patchwork quilt. We wanted to go to Duckett Nurseries but their open day was 4th September so I took some photos in their property – was amazed to see how many people were wandering around taking photos of the flowers. From there we went to Evita se Perron – had heard so much about it but had never seen it.. Quite an education to walk through I must say!
From there we went down to Yzerfontein so the harbour.. There was a bit of activity with boats coming in.. We ended up going for lunch at Die Stal – what a lovely little pub / restaurant!
We decided to take a ride through Stellenbosch and over Franschoek Pass. Havent been there for ages either. There is so much to see and so little time! Had a lovely ride over the pass and went past Tierwaterskloof, Kwaggaskloof, Villiersdorp, Rawsonville, and over Du Toit’s Kloof. We took the old road, instead of the tunnel. Unfortunately the day was a bit hazy but spectacular nevertheless. We stopped in at Fairview – its always pretty there!
My Name is Yvonne Luden. I have always been passionate about photography for as long I can remember. I spent the whole of my first salary buying my first camera – a second hand one at that! I have upgraded each time and now am the proud owner of a Nikon D200. I just love taking photos around our beautiful city and country. I also love taking photos of children and fun family shots. I feel that one learns from every single picture you take, and one can only get better!
