Victoria Road, Camps Bay in 1889


Victoria Road in Camps Bay runs between Bantry Bay & Camps Bay with the Twelve Apostles which is a well known feature of Cape Town with scenic views of the ocean.

The coastal drive Victoria Road was built by well-known roads engineer Thomas Bain. It was completed in 1888, and named in honour of Queen Victoria’s jubilee.

Today  Victoria Road is a tourist attraction with various hotels  such the President Hotel and shopping centres and restaurants running along this historical road. Its also perfect for a afternoon cruise along the coast line and of course a feature route on the City Sightseeing Cape Town routes.
